What the aarti says, in simple English.
Victory to Mother Tulsi, giver of happiness and blessings to the whole world. You are above all yogas and all diseases; protecting us from impurity, you carry us across worldly life. Dark-hued one, divine creeper growing in every village, beloved of Vishnu – whoever serves you is saved. You adorn Hari's head, are worshipped in the three worlds and are famed as the saviour of the fallen. Born in the wilderness, you came into divine homes, and through you the human world gains happiness and wealth. You are dearly loved by Hari, tender and dark – wondrous is the love and bond he shares with you.
Aartis are sung with small differences from region to region and family to family – if your family sings it differently, both are right.
