A story from this Purana
The elephant king Gajendra was seized by a crocodile in a lake. After fighting for years and losing his strength, he lifted a lotus in his trunk and called out to the Supreme Lord. Vishnu came at once on Garuda and freed him – a story recited for release from any crisis.
