Meaning

What the aarti says, in simple English.

Red sindoor is lovingly applied to the elephant-faced Lord; the round-bellied son of Gauri and Shiva shines in red, holding jaggery laddoos – lord of the gods – whose glory cannot be described; I fall at his feet. Victory to Ganaraj, giver of learning and joy – blessed is your darshan, in which my mind delights. The eight siddhis are your servants, you are the enemy of troubles, destroyer of obstacles, the auspicious rightful Lord; your image shines like millions of suns, and the moon sways on your majestic brow. Whoever comes to your refuge with loving devotion receives children and wealth in abundance. Such a king are you, dearest to me – Gosavinandan sings your virtues day and night.
