What the aarti says, in simple English.
Aarti to Ramdas, devotee, renunciant and lord – the sun of knowledge has risen and lit up everything. Maruti, the avatar of Shankar himself, took the form of Ramdas in Kali Yuga. He wrote the Dasbodh in twenty dashakas, uplifted dull souls and guided King Shivaji. His vow was celibacy and he saw the whole creation as Rama; the feet of the Samarth Sadguru bring welfare to the three worlds.
Text as printed in the Marathi Arati Sangrah – sanskritdocuments.org (1999 edition, supplied by Pothipuran). Aartis are sung with small differences from region to region and family to family – if your family sings it differently, both are right.
