What the aarti says, in simple English.
I wave the lamp before Madan-Gopala, the beautiful dark one with the Vaijayanti garland. His lotus feet are very tender, marked with the flag, thunderbolt and goad, and adorned with anklets. The lotus of his navel is Brahma's seat; the Shrivatsa mark and a pendant shine on his chest. Seeing his lotus face, bright as millions of suns, my mind is captivated and my eyes are filled. His jewelled crown blazes, and its light fills the three worlds. Eka Janardana saw that form – and in trying to see it, became one with it.
